My Favorite CW 10 Exercise

They said this city was just like Manila. There were bars, malls, restaurants and long lines of traffic. The streets were lit up by cigarettes and billboards of familiar faces. But people were talking a different language. There were a couple of beaches just beside the city. There was a billboard of a boy who looked ten. He was sitting on white sand with the sea behind him. The sand was coarse and there were bits of it on his hair, cheeks, arms and legs. His mouth was open, as if exclaiming his joy over what he found. He held his hands up, both fists closed tightly. Beside him was a mound of dug-out sand, and the boy was baked a caramel tan. His fists were clasping something and it amused him. His eyes were little black balls, watery from the mist of salt air. He could be clasping small shells ar beach stones, Maybe dug-out treasure or relics of small animals. Or he could just be clasping balls of wet sand.
